Custom aluminum ashtray



A limited-edition ashtray designed for a certain script writer.

The design, created by shaving away aluminum and wood, aims to create a feeling of weight.

The ash receptacle slopes inward toward the plug in the center so that cigarette ends slide and fall inward. We also paid careful attention to safety: sealing the lid on unextinguished ashes creates a hypoxic environment that naturally puts the fire out.

In order to maintain an impression of cleanliness during use, we also created a small brush with which to remove residual ash. Having the two together feels almost like owning a tea set. A design with the unique feel of a gadget.
